    Diagnostics

Just as with humans, not every illness or injury that an animal may be suffering from can be easily detected on the surface of the skin. Veterinary diagnostics are tools that provide our team with the ability to look below the surface and learn exactly what’s happening inside your pet’s body. This allows us to quickly and accurately identify, diagnose and treat whatever may be bothering your pet. With many conditions, time is of the essence, and with the right diagnostic tools, we can achieve a timely diagnosis for the best possible outcome.

Hillview Veterinary Clinic offers a broad range of veterinary diagnostic services to better manage the ongoing health of our patients. These services range from routine blood work, urinalysis and fecal testing to more advanced procedures such as digital x-ray and ultrasound imaging. Our convenient on-site laboratory allows for the fast and accurate retrieval of test results so that a speedy diagnosis can be made and the best treatment plan-of-action can be developed.

For those situations where an expert opinion is needed, test results can be instantly delivered electronically to board-certified veterinary radiologists, cardiologists, pathologists, and internal medicine specialists with whom we have developed solid, professional relationships. Hillview Veterinary Clinic is also a member of an internet veterinary consultation service, which is staffed with board-certified specialists, to help us further evaluate medically challenging cases. Rest assured that whatever is ailing your animal companion, we’re prepared to get to the bottom of it.

    Surgery

There comes a time in most companion animals’ lives when surgery may be necessary, whether it’s a biopsy, a routine spay or neuter, or something more complex. At Hillview Veterinary Clinic, we perform a broad range of veterinary surgical services right in the safety and comfort of our clinic. We also understand just how stressful bringing your pet in for surgery can be, which is why we strive to ensure that each and every procedure we perform is as stress-free as possible for both the patient and their owner.

Surgical patients are thoroughly examined and tested to be certain that they are healthy enough to receive anesthesia and undergo surgery. Our veterinarian is highly skilled in the most modern veterinary surgical techniques and performs every procedure to the strictest standards of care. We use only the safest anesthetic products available and all patients are carefully monitored by our well trained staff of veterinary technicians to ensure their comfort and safety before, during and following any surgical procedure.

For surgeries that are more complicated in nature, such as serious bone fractures or soft tissue injuries, we are able to arrange for the appropriate veterinary internal medicine and surgical specialists to come in and assist right at our clinic. Whatever your pet’s surgical needs, rest assured that they will be met at Hillview.

    Laser Surgery

At Hillview Veterinary Clinic, we pride ourselves at offering comprehensive care to our patients using the most modern technology as well as state-of-the-art equipment and techniques. For several decades now, laser technology has been helping doctors to safely and effectively treat patients. The technology is well proven and well documented in human medicine and is now being adopted by veterinarians to provide better patient care. We are proud to offer laser surgery as an added service to our valued clients.

    What is Laser Surgery?

A laser is an instrument that uses an invisible beam of light to perform surgical procedures that would otherwise require the use of a scalpel. Laser surgery is fast becoming the preferred way to perform surgery due to its many benefits to the patient. These benefits include:

    • Less pain - both during and following surgery
    • Less bleeding - during surgery, the laser seals off small blood vessels, significantly reducing blood loss
    • Less swelling - because the laser is less invasive than traditional surgery, there is less post-operative inflammation and swelling
    • Faster recovery - patients who undergo laser surgery experience much less pain, bleeding and swelling after surgery, making recovery much quicker and more comfortable

Laser surgery cannot be used on every type of procedure, but it’s an excellent option for:

    • Declaw Procedures
    • Spays/Neuters
    • Amputations
    • Dental Procedures
    • Mass Removals
    • Dermatology

Whatever type of surgery your pet requires, whether it’s routine or complex, traditional or laser, we’re prepared to assist in every way we can. We want you to feel confident that when you bring your pet to us for surgery, he or she will be in excellent, highly capable hands.
