If Pets Had Thumbs Day

Did you know that there’s a very fun pet holiday coming up? March 3rd is If Pets Had Thumbs Day. While it’s not highly likely that our furry companions will simultaneously grow opposable thumbs, it can be fun to ponder about what would happen if they did. A Pickerington, OH vet offers some suggestions below.

Raid The Fridge. And the Cupboards

It’s probably safe to say that your furry pals would waste little time in popping open every can, box, and package of food in the house. You may come home to find a bit of a mess!

Let Themselves Out

Fido and Fluffy both have a strong sense of adventure. Of course, Fluffy may spend most of her day just going in and out. Fido may head down the road to visit that cute dog a few houses down.

Order Everything

To take this theory a little further, what do you think would happen if your animal companion could order things online? We suspect that many pet parents’ bank accounts would take a nosedive, while their furry buddies indulged themselves by buying furniture, beds, treats, and toys. Fluffy may also order some live fish, while Fido may sign up for meal-delivery services.

Refuse To Answer Your Texts

If you ever want a laugh, look at some of the humorous ‘Text from dogs’ memes. Some of these hilarious spoof texts may not be far from the truth! Of course, Fluffy probably couldn’t be bothered to reply to your texts at all. Fido would probably text you every five minutes to find out when you are coming home, and what is for dinner.

Steal Your Keys

Your car keys may very well go missing soon after your furry buddy got thumbs. Fido may take them for himself and attempt to drive to a doggy park. Fluffy, however, would probably just hide them, hoping to escape the next car ride.

Go Through Everything

Our four-legged friends are very curious. Fido and Fluffy ransack every drawer, closet, and box in your house, looking for toys and treats.

Steal Your Back Scratcher

If you have a back-scratcher, your furry friend may immediately claim it as their own. Fido would be in doggy heaven with an easy way to scratch that annoying itch!
